Robert K.Young

Robert K.YoungAfter graduating from the University of Rhode Island and completing his law school education at NY Law School in 1966, Robert K. Young,  with subsequent admission to the New York State Bar in 1968, founded the Law Office of Robert K.Young & Associates, P.C., in 1968.

During his 50 years of law practice, Mr. Young has successfully represented thousands of clients in the diverse areas of personal injury including car accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, and accidents, workers' compensation and motorcycle, truck and boating accidents. Mr. Young has extraordinary legal talents and abilities in all of the foregoing areas as well as matters concerning divorce and custody, landlord/tenant, and criminal matters. He has litigated numerous cases over the years and is highly regarded throughout the legal community for his professionalism and integrity in the advocacy of his clients.

Mr. Young is a member in good standing of both the Nassau County and New York State Bar Associations and still zealously pursues the claims, best interests, and legal goals of his clients.

In June 2018 and for the 3rd consecutive year in a row that Gary J. Young has received the designation of “Super Lawyer.” After attending the University of Albany, Gary J. Young graduated Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and, in July 1998, was admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Since joining his father's practice in 1997, Gary has handled thousands of personal injury cases and recovered tens of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients. Gary has successfully tried both jury and non-jury cases, as well as arbitrations, throughout New York. Gary's unwavering work ethic and "no stone left unturned" management style, has proven extremely effective over the past 20 years, helping him win exceptional recoveries for his clients. Recently, in January 2018 Gary obtained an award for a victim of an intentional assault in the amount of $1,100,000.00 and in February through July 2018 awards of $650,000.00, $700,000.00 and $750,000.00 for car accident victims who sustained spinal injuries.  Other noteworthy recent awards include a $250,000.00 jury verdict for a woman who sustained a shoulder and back injury (the offer prior to trial was $25,000.00), $985,000.00 for a man who injured his back at a construction site, a combined total award of $975,000.00 for two persons who slipped and fell on separate occasions at the same apartment building and sustained spinal injuries, $900,000.00 for a woman who slipped and fell on ice and injured her spine, $550,000.00 for a man who sustained knee and shoulder injuries at a construction site, $550,000.00 from the property owner for a woman who suffered injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident on his property and $500,000.00 for a man who sustained spinal injuries as a result of a car accident.
 
Past awards also include $1,350,000.00 for a dog bite victim who aggravated a neck injury and suffered a back injury (this award was the highest award ever for a dog bite victim in Queens County and  as per the New York Law Journal, the highest award in NYS for the year ending 2016 for a dog bite victim), $1,000,000.00 for a woman who suffered severe facial lacerations and fractures in a motor vehicle accident, $925,000.00 for a disabled man who suffered a spinal injury resulting from a construction accident at his home, $900,000.00 for a woman severely injured in a motor vehicle accident, $900,000.00 for a man who suffered severe spinal injuries in a motor vehicle accident, and $800,000.00 for a man who also suffered back injuries in a car accident.

Gary understands and appreciates the "human side" of personal injury, and how the negligence of others can exact an enormous emotional and physical toll on his clients. For this reason, Gary keeps in constant contact with clients throughout their cases to ensure they are kept well informed, allowing his clients to focus on their physical and emotional recovery. Gary also prides himself on client responsiveness, ensuring that all phone calls are answered or returned promptly the same day. Gary understands that simple things, such as professionalism and good old fashion kindness and emotional support, can go a long way to helping his clients achieve not only monetary compensation for their injuries, but also the peace of mind and confidence knowing that the right man is on the job.

Gary has also regularly lectured on No-Fault issues, in January 2012, was voted "Best Attorney in Long Island" by the readership of the Long Island Press and received a “Super Lawyers” designations for the years 2016 and 2017.

 

 

Jack Cutrone

Jack CutroneJack Cutrone received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University and his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University. He is an associate specializing in representing personal injury victims and has been a tireless advocate for the rights of injured people since joining the firm in 2002. He has successfully litigated hundreds of cases, including car accidents, slip, and fall accidents, workplace accidents, and medical malpractice claims and has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for his clients.

Mr. Cutrone also has substantial experience representing clients in real estate transactions as well as representing the interests of clients in criminal court matters, including traffic violations, DWI, drug charges, burglary, robbery, and assault.

Mr. Cutrone has successfully defended many clients against claims of breach of contract and claims of negligence. Notably, Mr. Cutrone had a wrongful death case dismissed against his client prior to trial and without any contribution.

 

Nicole C. Chan

Nicole C. Chan received her Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University in 2012 and was admitted to practice law in New York State in 2013.  Prior to attending law school, Nicole graduated Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with her Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science in 2009. 

Having grown up on Long Island, Nicole has demonstrated a true commitment to the local community.  Prior to joining the firm, she volunteered countless hours supporting cases at the Criminal Justice Clinic at Hofstra University and the Department of Social Services in Mineola.

 

Due to her passion for criminal law and trial advocacy, in 2012 Nicole was recognized by the Criminal Courts Bar of Nassau County and awarded with the Leon Stern Award.    

Nicole is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.  Nicole has been an Associate at Robert K. Young and Associates, P.C. for over five years and has handled countless cases from inception to completion.

Jonathan VanDina

Jonathan VanDinaJonathan VanDina received his Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law in 2011 and was admitted to the bar in 2012. He is admitted to practice in the Second Department, State of New York as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Since his admission, Jonathan VanDina has litigated all aspects of personal injury and medical malpractice cases from inception to trial. His experience includes general liability matters, medical negligence, premise liability, vehicular negligence, and municipality liability.

 

 

 

 

Angeliki Kokkosis, Esq.

Angeliki Kokkosis, Esq.Angeliki Kokkosis was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 2016 and the State of New Jersey in 2015. Ms. Kokkosis received her Juris Doctorate from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in May 2015 with a citation of excellence in advocacy and litigation. While attending Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Ms. Kokkosis was the secretary of Hofstra’s Labor and Employment Legal Society as well as a member of Hofstra’s First Generation Law Students and Hofstra Law Women. While attending law school, Angeliki Kokkosis began her career at Robert K. Young Law& Associates, PC as an intern in 2013. Before attending law school, Ms. Kokkosis graduated Magana Cum Laude from Hofstra University with her Bachelors of Arts in 2012.

 

 

Angela Calia, Esq.

Angela Calia, Esq.Angela M. Calia received her Juris Doctorate and Criminal Law Certificate from Touro Law School and was admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey in 2017. Before attending law school, Angela graduated from Pace University in 2012 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in both Law and Italian Studies. At Touro, she received the award for Exemplary Contributions to the Quality of Student Life, the Touro Pro Bono Service Award and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Race, Gender and Ethnicity. Throughout her law school experience, Angela worked with the Nassau District Attorney’s Office, defense firms, and the Veterans and Service Members’ Rights Clinic. Prior to joining Robert K. Young & Associates, P.C., she has worked with firms where her experience includes No-Fault, property damage, personal injury, and vehicular negligence. Angela is currently a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.

 

Andreia L. Bento, Esq.

Andreia L. Bento received her Juris Doctorate from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2018 and was admitted to practice law in New York in 2019. Prior to attending law school, Andreia graduated from Hofstra University in 2014 with her Bachelor of Arts in both History and Political Science. At Hofstra, she was a member of the Dispute Resolution Society and competed in some of their on campus tournaments. In addition, Andreia was a member of the Journal of International Business and Law, in which her student Note, “’All That is Gold Does Not Glitter’: Mercury Exposure to Children In Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mines and the Inadequacy of the Minamata Convention”, was published in 2017. In her final year at law school, Andreia served on the Journal’s Managing Board as Senior Research Editor.

Throughout law school, Andreia worked with Hofstra Law’s Immigration Clinic which helped individuals obtain legal aid in completing their applications for Naturalization through the Pathway To Citizenship Program established at the Central American Refugee Center in Hempstead, New York. Andreia joined Robert K. Young and Associates as an intern in 2016, after her first year of law school. Andreia is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
